New Toyota Verso 7-Seater MPV

New generation Toyota Verso minivan will make its world debut in Geneva next week.



With the exception of the Avensis-inspired front-end, the Verso MPV's styling is evolutionary. New Verso is 70mm longer and 20mm wider than the previous model.

New model will have 20% increase in power and torque, as well as a 12% reduction in carbon-dioxide emissions and fuel-consumption. The power train lineup includes 1.6 and 1.8L Valvematic petrol units, paired to either a 6-speed manual or new Multidrive S CVT, as well as 2.0 and 2.2L turbo diesels.

Fiat 500C Rag-top Convertible

Rag-top convertible version of Fiat's highly successful FIAT 500 retro-mini will make its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show in early March, and will go on sale in spring.








The central part of the roof of the car folds on the trunk top with the help of electric power, opening up the sky over the heads of the four riders. Fabric rag-top will be offered in three colors: ivory, red and black. FIAT 500C engine lineup entirely borrowed from the original hatchback: turbo diesel 75HP MultiJet and two petrol engines volume of 1.2 and 1.4 liters and output of 69 and 100 hp respectively. Diesel engine is paired with a 5-speed manual, petrol engine could be coupled with manual, and with the robotized gearbox Dualogic.

Italian company Alfa Romeo will show new MiTo sports hatchback version called MiTo GTA at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Designers from Abarth gave it tuned 1.8-liter 240 hp turbo engine. Dynamics of hot-hatch will further improve the reduced weight, aerodynamic shape and reduced clearance.







Expected that Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA European sales will start in late 2009, and in case of a successful strategic alliance between Fiat and Chrysler - sports car will appear in the U.S. The main MiTo GTA rival will be MINI Cooper S JCW, but the Italian car overtaking it in power, and price, which is projected to be almost $2800 less.

New Audi TT RS will be officially revealed at next month's Geneva Motor Show, and available in both coupe and roadster versions, but full set of official pictures is already available.







Appearance has become more aggressive, soft lines and some bulk of the previous model are gone. Form of spoiler and bumpers changed, elegant honeycomb structure on the bumper is in harmony with the new LED headlamps and oval exhaust pipe. The interior is typical of Audi with scattered elements with company logo and a lot of aluminum.

Audi TT comes with new turbocharged 5-cylinder 340-horsepower engine with direct-injection, capacity of 2.5-liters and a maximum torque figure of 450 Nm or 331.9-lbs/ft., which fires car up to hundreds in less than 5 seconds.

Hummer H2 will be closed

It's expected that General Motors's vehicle Hummer H2 will be closed for at least an additional 15 weeks beyond that.

Responding to rumors that the assembly line has been permanently dismantled, Craig MacNab, a spokesperson for AM General, the company that operates the facility for General Motors, says the plant is intact and ready to restart production when and if they get the word from GM, Fox News reports.



A Hummer spokesperson would not confirm the exact details of the length of the closure, but said, "we will produce more when we get more dealer orders."

A target for critics because of its low fuel economy, H2 sales were down more than 50 percent in 2008, Fox News reports, with just 374 units sold in December of last year. The Hummer brand is currently under review by General Motors as part of the company's restructuring plan spurred on by the recent government bailout and is reportedly being considered for sale or elimination.

Two hundred employees were affected by the shutdown, but MacNab says AM General is in the process of transferring them to a neighboring plant that builds the military-spec Humvee for the U.S. and foreign military outfits, rather than allowing them to be laid off indefinitely. Fifty workers already have found new positions helping build 80 of the off-road vehicles each day.

In Europe, Chevrolet Spark will come with a choice of 1.0 and 1.2-litre 16-valve four-cylinder gasoline engines. In addition, new Spark receives 1.3 liters turbo diesel, 75 and 90 hp version. Depending on the type of engine 5 - or 6-speed manual gearbox will be installed.

Dacia Sport Coupe Concept

Renault-Nissan Alliance will present sport coupe under its own Dacia brand at the international motor show in Geneva, which opens on March 2, 2009.







Currently Dacia produces only low-cost and practical vehicles, among which three modified models of Logan - sedan, station wagon and pickup, as well as the hatchback Sandero.
