Hyundai i40 - Successor to Hyundai Sonata details emerge

According to British magazine Autocar, citing the statement of its own sources inside the South Korean automakers - within two years, Korean Hyundai will begin selling i40, which will replace the Sonata model.



Hyundai i40 will be build on an all-new platform with design based on Genus concept shown in 2006 in Geneva. I40 will be offered with a 1.6 - and 2.0-liter gasoline engines, as well as turbo diesel.

Hyundai i40 will initially be launched in wagon version, with a sedan following in 2011. According to the source, the Sonata successor will be more stylish and "and won’t be a car that people buy purely for value."
