Mitsubishi i MiEV Hybrid

Head of the Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, Osamu Masuko, announced plans to release compact urban model Mitsubishi i MiEV. In 2009, when the car arrives on the Japanese market, they will build 2,000 units, and another 4,000 next year, and then the manufacturer will begin its mass production.


Japanese buyer will have to pay about 27,530 dollars (18,402 euros) for the car. Manufacturer, however, claiming to reduce cost in 2010.

In October 2008, Mitsubishi i MiEV model could be seen at the test tracks in Europe. A car will be officially unveiled in the Old World in 2011.

Interestingly, Mitsubishi has worked to develop i MiEV production model since 2005. This model is based on a platform known in Japan and England as Mitsubishi i. The first test samples Mitsubishi i MiEV appeared in March 2007. Testing of the latest version of i MiEV began in 2008.


What is remarkable in Mitsubishi i MiEV? A lot! First, this hybrid model. Its engine is composed of 47 kilowatt electric motor with a capacity of 180 Nm torque and lithium-ion batteries. Secondly, compact car is capable of reaching a speed of 130 km / h. and driving 160 km without recharge.
